Description
Create commercially focused artwork and illustrations for advertising, branding, packaging, and media, using traditional and digital tools to translate client briefs into effective, production-ready visuals.
- • Use pens, ink, watercolor, vector/raster software, and mixed media to create commercial artwork.
- • Integrate visual elements—line, space, color, typography, and perspective—to convey brand messages and drive response.
- • Collaborate with clients, art directors, marketers, and copywriters to clarify briefs, audiences, and goals.
- • Present sketches, storyboards, or comps for approval and iterate based on feedback.
- • Maintain and update a portfolio highlighting styles, industries, and measurable outcomes.
- • Create visuals for advertising, packaging, editorial, social media, and web to support written messaging.
- • Build physical or digital mockups and prototypes for packaging, displays, or product visuals.
- • Research market trends, competitor creative, and audience insights to inform concepts.

- • Create likenesses, portraits, or character art from photographs or live references for campaigns.
- • Develop character/mascot concepts, style frames, and visual systems for brands.
- • Estimate timelines, scope, and material/production costs; develop project budgets for approval.
- • Color, shade, and finish illustrations; specify palettes, swatches, and materials for production.
- • Collaborate with printers, prepress, and production vendors to ensure accurate color and output.
- • Prepare print-ready and digital-ready files, managing bleeds, resolution, color profiles, and file formats.
- • Vectorize and refine line art; clean up scans and convert roughs to final artwork.
- • Retouch, composite, and color-correct images to meet brand and production standards.
- • Build maquettes or simple 3D assets for visualization when needed.
- • Partner with copywriters to align visuals with concepts, headlines, and calls to action.
- • Provide live sketching, quick portraits, or activations at brand events when requested.
