Description
Apply practical environmental engineering methods to install, operate, and troubleshoot monitoring and treatment equipment; collect and analyze samples; and document results to support pollution prevention, waste treatment, and site remediation, under the direction of engineers or scientists. May assist with field investigations, bench-scale testing, and compliance activities.
- • Provide data and vendor research to support technology evaluations for site cleanup.
- • Operate and document bench-scale or pilot tests of treatment processes.
- • Prepare and package environmental samples for shipment or laboratory testing.
- • Compile data and documentation for permit applications and compliance reports.
- • Record field and laboratory data, photographs, and observations.
- • Collect and analyze air, water, wastewater, soil, or groundwater samples.
- • Receive, set up, test, and decontaminate environmental equipment.

- • Compile environmental data and prepare tables, charts, and brief summaries.
- • Monitor process parameters and report anomalies.
- • Support assessments of construction impacts and pollution prevention programs by collecting data and documentation.
- • Perform basic QA/QC and simple statistical checks on air and water data.
- • Contribute input to work plans and material and equipment needs.
- • Collect field measurements to support natural attenuation evaluations.
- • Prepare input datasets for contaminant transport or dispersion models.
- • Decontaminate and test field instruments used for soil, air, and water sampling.
