Description
Design, develop, and evaluate renewable energy systems and projects—such as solar PV, wind, energy storage, hydro, biomass, or geothermal—from feasibility through commissioning to optimize performance, reliability, and cost. Conduct resource assessment and modeling, manage interconnection and permitting, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide construction, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
- • Perform resource assessments and energy yield modeling for solar, wind, hydro, biomass, or geothermal projects.
- • Design system layouts, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- • Model grid interconnection, power quality, and protection; support utility approvals.
- • Manage development, design, procurement, and construction to meet budget, schedule, and quality.
- • Commission and retro-commission renewable plants and microgrids.
- • Monitor and analyze generation performance using SCADA and data analytics; perform M&V.
- • Optimize controls and energy management strategies for inverters, turbines, and battery EMS.
- • Prepare and review EPC, O&M, interconnection, and power purchase agreements; support negotiations.
- • Prepare permit packages and ensure compliance with codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE 1547, UL, IEC).
- • Review civil, structural, and electrical plans for constructability and performance.
- • Inspect installations for safety, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- • Develop financial models (CAPEX/OPEX, LCOE, IRR) and analyze incentives and markets.
- • Identify and recommend system optimization, storage sizing, and hybridization strategies.
- • Coordinate with clients, contractors, utilities, and AHJs to resolve technical issues.
- • Train clients and O&M personnel on operation, safety, and performance monitoring.
- • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and as-built documentation.
- • Collect and validate resource and performance data with met masts, LiDAR, pyranometers, or sub-metering.
- • Troubleshoot underperformance and recommend corrective actions.
- • Research emerging renewable technologies and grid integration solutions.
- • Promote renewable energy adoption and sustainability best practices.
- • Verify production data and utility invoices against models and contractual guarantees.
- • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technology selection.
