Description
Design, optimize, and manage energy systems and programs to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and support sustainability across new construction, retrofits, and operations. Work across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, lighting, controls, and building performance, and evaluate renewable and procurement options.
  • • Perform energy modeling, measurement and verification, commissioning, and retro-commissioning.
  • • Conduct energy audits to quantify use and identify conservation and cost savings.
  • • Monitor and analyze utility and submeter data to track consumption and demand.
  • • Inspect HVAC, lighting, building envelope, and daylighting systems to assess performance and savings potential.
  • • Manage the development, design, and construction of energy conservation projects to meet budget, schedule, codes, and specifications.
  • • Analyze, interpret, and visualize energy data using engineering software.
  • • Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, and controls plans for energy efficiency.
  • • Write and install energy management routines for building automation systems.
  • • Verify utility bills and meter readings and resolve discrepancies.
  • • Identify and recommend energy-saving strategies and technologies for efficient operation.
  • • Consult with clients and engineers on LEED, green building, energy codes, and sustainability.
  • • Train personnel and clients on energy management best practices.
  • • Direct implementation and commissioning of energy management projects.
  • • Collect field data via site observations, inspections, data logging, and submetering.
  • • Monitor energy-related design and construction issues for compliance and performance.
  • • Advise on climate control systems, energy modeling, data logging, sustainable design, and energy auditing.
  • • Promote and evaluate alternative and renewable energy options, such as solar thermal or photovoltaic systems.
  • • Review and negotiate energy purchase and supply agreements.
  • • Prepare energy-related project reports, proposals, and documentation.
  • • Research and compare fuel options and recommend best choices for specific sites or operations.
