Description
Install, troubleshoot, and repair aftermarket audio, security, navigation, and related electronic systems in passenger cars, ensuring clean integration and reliable performance.
- • Splice and solder wiring harnesses; crimp terminals and heat-shrink connections.
- • Diagnose faults in car audio, navigation, communication, camera, and security systems.
- • Inspect and test circuits with multimeters, test lights, and oscilloscopes to locate malfunctions.
- • Install head units, amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, navigation, Bluetooth/satellite receivers, dash cams, backup cameras, parking sensors, alarms, and remote-start systems.
- • Estimate parts and labor for installs, upgrades, and repairs.
- • Consult with customers to assess needs, features, and reported issues.
- • Route and secure power, ground, speaker, and data cables through vehicles.
- • Cut and drill openings for mounts, switches, and cameras; protect edges and finishes.
- • Replace, clean, or re-terminate connectors, fuses, and electronic modules as needed.
- • Remove and reinstall trim, seats, carpeting, and door panels; apply sound-deadening materials.
- • Record diagnostic findings, configurations, and completed work.
- • Fabricate and fit custom fiberglass or wooden subwoofer and equipment enclosures to vehicle dimensions.
