Description
Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical power and control equipment in facilities and plants, ensuring safe, reliable operation and compliance with codes and standards.
- • Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical power and control systems, including relays and sensors.
- • Inspect and test equipment and circuits using schematics and meters (multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter) to locate faults.
- • Consult manuals, drawings, and engineering staff to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
- • Communicate and coordinate equipment shutdowns; perform lockout/tagout.
- • Open and close breakers and switches to isolate circuits and make adjustments or repairs.
- • Document tests, repairs, and preventive maintenance in CMMS or logs.
- • Analyze measurements and test data to diagnose malfunctions and validate system modifications.
- • Perform insulation resistance and dielectric tests; calculate insulation values and leakage.
- • Repair, replace, and clean components such as circuit breakers, contactors, motors, relays, and connectors.
- • Replace and wire regulators, power supplies, or drives; torque and verify terminations to code.
- • Assist with installation and commissioning of monitoring or control systems; configure devices.
- • Conduct cable continuity, signal quality, and connectivity tests; record and label results.
- • Splice and terminate conductors per color-code and labeling standards; verify pinouts.
- • Where applicable, sample and test transformer oil for dielectric strength and condition.
- • Maintain spare-parts inventory and initiate requisitions as needed.
