Description
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic systems and equipment, including communications, control, security, navigation, and instrumentation devices, in bench and field settings.
  • • Inspect and test electronic systems and components to diagnose faults using visual checks, meters, oscilloscopes, analyzers, and diagnostic software.
  • • Reassemble, configure, and function-test equipment after repairs or upgrades.
  • • Splice and terminate wires, crimp connectors, and solder or desolder components on cables and PCBs.
  • • Install wiring, harnesses, connectors, and power supplies as required.
  • • Locate and repair circuit defects such as blown fuses, failed components, shorts, or opens.
  • • Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring, relays, sensors, PCBs, and connectors using technician tools.
  • • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, datasheets, and manufacturers' specifications to troubleshoot and verify repairs.
  • • Maintain service records, test results, and configuration documentation.
  • • Fabricate and mount panels, brackets, and enclosures; drill and label for equipment and cable routing.
  • • Measure, cut, and install cable management, conduit, and support hardware to connect control panels and junction points.
  • • Install and configure electronic assemblies and modules such as power supplies, amplifiers, RF units, controllers, and displays.
  • • Install terminal blocks, switches, interface boards, and connectors.
  • • Repair or refurbish subassemblies such as power supplies, motor drivers, actuators, and control boards.
  • • Communicate with users or clients to determine symptoms, verify performance, and provide technical guidance.
  • • Estimate parts and labor for repairs and maintenance; recommend preventive actions.
