Install, configure, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and wiring, including communication, security, audio/visual, surveillance, and control systems in residential, commercial, industrial, or mobile settings.
- • Inspect and test electrical and electronic systems to verify operation and diagnose issues using visual checks, meters, and software.
- • Reassemble and test equipment after installation or service.
- • Splice wires and solder connections to fixtures, outlets, and equipment.
- • Install new fuses, electrical cables, or power sources as required.
- • Locate and correct circuit defects such as blown fuses, faulty connectors, or failed components.
- • Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and relays in lighting, HVAC, access control, and safety systems using electrician's tools.
- • Refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications to follow connections and locate problems.
- • Maintain equipment and installation service records.
- • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures, outlet boxes, and fuse holders using power tools.
- • Measure, cut, and install supports and conduit to connect wiring, control panels, and junction boxes using hand tools.
- • Install electrical equipment such as HVAC controls, power supplies, and communication hardware using hand tools.
- • Install fixtures, outlets, terminal boards, switches, and wall boxes.
- • Assemble, repair, or replace components such as power supplies, control modules, sensors, or door operators using electrician's tools.
- • Confer with clients to determine requirements and resolve issues.
- • Estimate costs of installations and service based on parts and labor.
