Description
Teach undergraduate and graduate economics courses; conduct original research, publish findings, advise students, and provide service to the department, university, and profession.
  • • Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate lectures in econometrics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics.
  • • Develop syllabi, assignments, problem sets, and other course materials.
  • • Assess and grade coursework, exams, and research papers.
  • • Create, administer, and oversee examinations and other assessments.
  • • Stay current in economics through literature review, seminars, and conferences.
  • • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • • Facilitate discussions, case analyses, and active learning in class.
  • • Hold regular office hours to advise and support students.
  • • Select and adopt textbooks, software, and instructional resources.
  • • Lead curriculum design and revise course content and teaching methods.
  • • Conduct original research and publish in peer-reviewed journals and books.
  • • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research, theses, and dissertations, and mentor teaching assistants.
  • • Advise students on academic pathways, research opportunities, and careers.
  • • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
  • • Collaborate with colleagues on teaching initiatives and research projects.
  • • Curate reading lists and bibliographies for advanced study.
  • • Support student recruitment, orientation, and placement efforts.
  • • Perform administrative duties, including program coordination or acting as department chair, when assigned.
  • • Seek external funding by preparing grant proposals and managing awards.
  • • Present research at conferences and academic seminars.
  • • Provide professional consulting or policy guidance to government or industry.
  • • Advise and sponsor student organizations and honors societies.
