Description
Perform classical and contemporary ballet repertoire. May perform on stage, for broadcast, or for video recording.
- • Choreograph or assist in staging ballets for self or others when needed.
- • Act and mime in narrative ballets as required.
- • Prepare and maintain pointe shoes or ballet shoes by sewing, gluing, or darning for rehearsals and performance.
- • Take daily ballet class to maintain technique, strength, flexibility, and endurance.
- • Study and rehearse roles, variations, and repertoire to meet production requirements.
- • Execute precise classical technique, turnout, line, and musical phrasing.
- • Perform classical, neoclassical, and contemporary ballet, conveying story and music through movement.
- • Collaborate with choreographers, ballet masters, and repetiteurs to refine steps and artistry.
- • Coordinate pas de deux and ensemble work, aligning timing, spacing, and lifts with partners and corps.
- • Attend costume, shoe, wig, and makeup fittings, and photography sessions.
- • Audition for productions, roles, or company contracts.
- • Manage health, cross-train, and monitor physical limits to prevent injury.
- • Track developments in ballet repertoire, companies, and stylistic trends.
- • Teach ballet classes or coach students when assigned.
