Description
Design and develop packaging for consumer and industrial products, combining structural and graphic design with research on materials, branding, sustainability, regulations, and manufacturing to deliver protective, cost-effective, and visually compelling solutions for retail and e-commerce.
  • • Create sketches, dielines, 3D models, and renderings using CAD and design software.
  • • Direct and coordinate prototype builds and sample-making; produce specifications, BOMs, and drawings.
  • • Refine packaging based on testing, line trials, stakeholder feedback, and cost or material changes.
  • • Align structural systems and visual identities across product lines and brand guidelines.
  • • Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, operations, and suppliers to define packaging requirements.
  • • Present concepts, mockups, and reports to stakeholders and secure approvals.
  • • Assess feasibility considering protection, usability, sustainability, compliance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • • Research market trends, competitor packaging, and shopper insights to inform concepts.
  • • Develop detailed packaging specifications, artwork requirements, and cost estimates.
  • • Design on-pack graphics, labels, barcodes, regulatory marks, and promotional elements.
  • • Establish packaging procedures and support factory and print production to improve quality.
  • • Build physical mockups using sample tables, cutters, 3D printing, or hand tools.
  • • Plan and execute package performance tests (e.g., ISTA/ASTM) and analyze results.
  • • Evaluate product and distribution characteristics to optimize cube, palletization, and fulfillment.
  • • Create and maintain packaging standards and ensure regulatory compliance and labeling.
  • • Participate in new product planning, timelines, and packaging sourcing.
  • • Advise on brand packaging strategy, sustainability goals, and supplier selection.
