Description
Clean and sanitize machinery, tools, and other equipment using water, cleaning agents, brushes, cloths, and hoses; operate cleaning systems safely and maintain compliance.
- • Mix cleaning solutions or abrasive compounds according to formulas.
- • Lubricate equipment or perform minor repairs or adjustments using hand tools.
- • Inspect equipment and parts for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards.
- • Scrub, scrape, or spray equipment and parts using scrapers, brushes, cloths, cleaners, disinfectants, acids, abrasives, vacuums, or hoses.
- • Operate or activate washers, pressure washers, steam cleaners, or other cleaning machines.
- • Rinse and dry parts and surfaces using cloths, squeegees, air compressors, or drying racks.
- • Adjust valves or controls to regulate pressure or flow of water, air, steam, or abrasives.
- • Pre-soak or rinse parts or equipment by immersion or spray, manually or using hoists.
- • Monitor cleaning equipment operation and stop machines or notify supervisors when malfunctions occur.
- • Disassemble and reassemble equipment or remove and reattach guards and panels using hand tools.
- • Connect hoses, lines, or nozzles to pumps or other equipment.
- • Maintain inventories of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
- • Apply protective coatings, rust inhibitors, or reconditioners to preserve equipment surfaces.
- • Drain or purge tanks and lines to remove water, cleaning solutions, or vapors.
- • Sweep, shovel, or vacuum debris or salvageable scrap into containers and remove them from work areas.
- • Transport parts, tools, supplies, or waste to and from work areas using carts or hoists.
- • Follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures when cleaning energized or hazardous equipment.
- • Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and fixtures to prevent contamination.
- • Record cleaning activities, inspections, and maintenance performed.
- • Set up barricades or signage to mark wet floors or cleaning in progress.
