Description
Maintain, diagnose, and repair a diverse fleet of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment across diesel and gasoline platforms. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs to maximize uptime, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support daily operations.
- • Use hand and power tools, diagnostic software, and precision instruments to service fleet vehicles.
- • Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, wheel bearings, and driveline components for safe operation.
- • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, fluid services, and lubrication.
- • Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, torque fasteners, and reassemble components.
- • Raise vehicles and heavy parts using lifts, jacks, or hoists.
- • Test drive or operate vehicles and equipment to diagnose concerns and verify repairs.
- • Diagnose faults by inspecting, testing, and listening, using scan tools, analyzers, and pressure/vacuum gauges.
- • Check and secure guards, shields, fasteners, and required safety devices.
- • Measure and verify tolerances, clearances, and torque to manufacturer specifications.
- • Service and repair engine systems, including fuel injection, turbochargers, and aftertreatment.
- • Connect test instruments or laptops to retrieve data, fault codes, and live sensor values.
- • Repair or rewire lighting, ignition, charging, and instrument circuits.
- • Recondition or replace worn parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, seals, and valves.
- • Diagnose and repair auxiliary systems and upfits, including hydraulics, liftgates, PTOs, pumps, and compressors.
- • Disassemble and overhaul engines, transmissions, clutches, transfer cases, and differentials.
- • Service emission and aftertreatment systems, including EGR, DPF/DEF, and sensors.
- • Follow environmental best practices for waste handling, recycling, and resource conservation.
- • Maintain and repair alternative-fuel and hybrid units, including CNG, LPG, and biodiesel systems.
- • Perform and document emissions, safety, and DOT inspections and repairs.
- • Install or repair accessories, telematics, GPS, cameras, and two-way radios.
- • Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires and wheels.
- • Respond to roadside service calls and perform mobile diagnostics and repairs.
- • Schedule and document PMs, DVIR corrections, and work orders in a fleet maintenance system.
- • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, and operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
- • Manage parts, fluids, and shop inventory; coordinate vendor and warranty repairs.
- • Inspect and repair trailers and towed equipment, including brakes, lighting, ABS, and chassis.
