Description
Set up, operate, and maintain equipment to acquire, edit, mix, and transmit audio and video for radio and television programs and live events. Monitor and adjust incoming and outgoing signals to ensure proper volume, strength, and clarity. Operate and troubleshoot satellite, microwave, and other transmitter equipment to keep broadcasts on the air and in compliance with FCC requirements.
- • Maintain programming logs as required by station management and the FCC.
- • Control audio equipment to regulate volume and sound quality during broadcasts.
- • Monitor incoming and outgoing signals and adjust equipment to maintain strength, clarity, and reliability.
- • Regulate video fidelity, brightness, and contrast using console control panels.
- • Observe monitors and coordinate with staff to confirm correct audio/video levels and on-air status.
- • Preview scheduled programs to verify signals function and content is ready for transmission.
- • Select sources for receiving or transmitting programming.
- • Report equipment problems, coordinate repairs, and perform emergency fixes when possible.
