Deliver scripted or ad-lib announcements for radio, television, streaming, or live events. Introduce programs and segments, read news or promotional copy, give cues, and conduct brief interviews while representing the outlet’s brand.
  • • Prepare and deliver news, sports, or weather reports within assigned time slots.
  • • Read urgent announcements or news flashes to inform audiences of major events.
  • • Select or refine program content with producers and directors to match format and audience.
  • • Study background information to prepare for programs, events, or interviews.
  • • Provide brief commentary on scheduled content and on weather or traffic conditions.

  • • Attend press briefings or media events to gather material for announcements.
  • • Provide live commentary and conduct interviews at sporting events, parades, conventions, or similar venues.
  • • Give timing and network cues to synchronize programs, breaks, and handoffs.
  • • Moderate panels or discussion segments on current affairs, arts, or education.
  • • Identify the outlet and introduce, transition, or close segments using scripts or ad-lib remarks.
  • • Develop and outline story lines or segment rundowns.
  • • Write and edit scripts and copy for announcements and promos.
