Description
Operate and monitor biomass plant systems, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safe, efficient power generation.
  • • Measure and monitor biomass feedstock (wood, waste, refuse).
  • • Operate valves, pumps, engines, and generators to control biomass power production.
  • • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • • Assess biomass feedstock quality.
  • • Calculate, load, and mix biomass feedstock for power generation.
  • • Calibrate fuel, chemical, and water flow meters and related instruments.
  • • Inspect plant and processing equipment; record and report damage or malfunctions.
  • • Operate biomass boilers or gasification systems per specifications.
  • • Control combustion and firing mechanisms to heat biomass safely and efficiently.
  • • Start, stop, and regulate generators, boilers, engines, and auxiliary systems.
  • • Operate high-pressure steam boilers and water chillers for cogeneration.
  • • Preprocess feedstock for biochemical or thermochemical production.
  • • Record and report operational data from meters, instruments, and gauges.
  • • Clean work areas and equipment to meet safety and environmental standards.
  • • Manage spare parts and consumable inventories.
  • • Read and interpret manuals, P&IDs, and technical drawings for plant equipment and processes.
  • • Test and treat boiler water chemistry within specified limits.
  • • Operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders or bulldozers.
