Description
Locate, secure, and recover collateral for delinquent accounts on behalf of lenders using lawful self-help practices. Verify assignments and documentation, conduct skip tracing and field surveillance, safely recover and transport vehicles or other assets without breach of peace, and document condition while inventorying personal property. Coordinate voluntary surrenders, arrange storage and releases, and maintain accurate records and client updates.
  • • Review repossession assignments and verify debtor, collateral, and legal requirements.
  • • Use skip tracing tools, databases, ALPR, and field checks to locate collateral.
  • • Conduct surveillance and canvassing to confirm collateral location and patterns.
  • • Recover vehicles and equipment safely, avoiding breach of peace; coordinate with tow operators.
  • • Secure collateral, keys, accessories, and plates; immobilize when appropriate.
  • • Photograph and video the scene and asset; complete detailed condition reports.
  • • Inventory, secure, and store personal property; issue required notices per policy.
  • • Transport collateral to approved storage yards, lenders, or auction facilities.
  • • Provide timely status updates and reports to clients via recovery platforms and calls.
  • • Arrange and document voluntary surrenders and peaceful pickups.
  • • Coordinate with law enforcement when required by jurisdiction or safety concerns.
  • • Handle redemption and release appointments; verify payment or authorization before release.
  • • Maintain accurate logs, chain-of-custody records, and time-stamped activity notes.
  • • Comply with federal, state, and local laws and client policies, including privacy and SCRA checks as required.
  • • Apply safety and de-escalation techniques during customer interactions.
  • • Perform administrative tasks such as address verification, skip trace notes, and report writing.
