Description
Install, replace, and remove automotive window tint film to enhance privacy, UV protection, and heat rejection while delivering clean finishes and complying with tint laws.
  • • Clean and decontaminate glass with cleaner, razors, and clay to ensure a dust-free surface.
  • • Inspect film rolls or precut patterns for defects before installation.
  • • Measure and cut window film to vehicle-specific patterns by hand or with a plotter.
  • • Heat-shrink film to fit curved glass using a heat gun.
  • • Spray slip solution, position film, and squeegee out water and air for full adhesion.
  • • Edge-trim and tuck film under seals and weatherstrips for a factory finish.
  • • Remove and reinstall door panels, gaskets, and trim as needed for bottom-loading.
  • • Install full back glass films in one piece or staged sections, as appropriate.
  • • Apply windshield sun strips or legal light-band tints when requested.
  • • Safely remove old tint and adhesive using steam, heat, and scrapers.
  • • Protect and work around defroster lines, antennas, cameras, and sensors.
  • • Verify visible light transmission and ensure compliance with state tint laws.
  • • Select film types (dyed, carbon, ceramic, IR) to meet customer and vehicle requirements.
  • • Work in a clean, controlled environment and use appropriate PPE and tools.
  • • Manage temperature and humidity; allow films to dry and cure properly.
  • • Correct contamination, fingers, or bubbles by reworking or replacing film.
  • • Warm or cool glass and film to handle temperature extremes during installation.
  • • Document work performed and maintain film and supply inventory.
