Description
Install and replace windshields, back glass, and side windows on vehicles; prepare bond areas, apply primers and urethane, set glass to spec, restore related components, and perform minor repairs when required.
  • • Inspect and stage OEM or aftermarket glass for the vehicle; check for defects.
  • • Clean openings of dirt, debris, and loose glass; keep bond areas dry.
  • • Remove moldings, clips, wipers, A-pillar trims, and headliners as needed.
  • • Cut out and remove broken windshields and windows using proper tools.
  • • Prime pinchwelds and glass per specs; prime scratches and allow to dry.
  • • Apply uniform urethane beads and install foam dams as required.
  • • Set glass accurately with setting tools; verify alignment, gaps, and flushness.
  • • Allow urethane to cure per temperature and humidity; confirm safe drive-away time.
  • • Reinstall moldings, clips, wipers, sensors, and other removed parts.
  • • Connect and test defroster grids and antenna leads.
  • • Install rubber channeling or weatherstrips to seal and prevent rattles.
  • • Check for leaks, wind noise, and fit; correct issues and clean the work area.
  • • Replace or adjust manual or power window regulators as needed.
  • • Control glass temperature in extreme weather to protect adhesion.
  • • Select and use correct tools, PPE, and materials per safety standards.
  • • Maintain dry, contamination-free bond lines throughout the process.
  • • Install replacement glass in vehicles, including windshields, back glass, and side glass.
  • • Perform static or dynamic ADAS camera calibration after windshield replacement when required.
