Description
Assess collision damage, prepare accurate repair estimates, and coordinate repair plans with customers, insurers, and technicians to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition while adhering to OEM procedures and shop standards.
  • • Inspect vehicles to identify collision, structural, mechanical, and refinish damage.
  • • Document damage with clear photographs and detailed notes.
  • • Write estimates using estimating software (e.g., CCC ONE, Audatex, Mitchell).
  • • Decode VINs and select correct vehicle options and packages.
  • • Research and apply OEM repair procedures and position statements.
  • • Blueprint repair plans with technicians, specifying repair vs. replace decisions.
  • • Identify required scans, calibrations, and sublet operations for ADAS and safety systems.
  • • Determine refinish operations, blending needs, and materials allowances.
  • • Create comprehensive parts lists and source OEM, aftermarket, or recycled parts per guidelines.
  • • Verify parts availability, pricing, supersessions, and alternative options.
  • • Prepare and submit supplements for hidden or additional damage.
  • • Negotiate estimate line items and approvals with insurance adjusters.
  • • Communicate repair scope, costs, and timelines to customers and obtain authorizations.
  • • Schedule repairs, coordinate drop-off/pickup, and set delivery targets.
  • • Update customers and insurers on repair status, changes, and completion dates.
  • • Ensure DRP, photo, and documentation compliance and accuracy.
  • • Request and review frame/structural measurements when indicated.
  • • List corrosion protection, seam sealing, and NVH requirements in the plan.
  • • Verify pre- and post-repair scans, calibrations, and road tests are completed and documented.
  • • Coordinate sublet vendors for glass, alignments, airbags, and calibrations.
  • • Review completed repairs for quality, completeness, and estimate conformity.
  • • Reconcile final invoices to estimates and resolve variances.
  • • Maintain organized files and records for audits, warranties, and compliance.
  • • Identify total loss candidates and communicate with insurers and customers.
  • • Calculate labor, materials, fees, and taxes per state and insurer rules.
