Description
Install, align, and service satellite dishes, LNBs, receivers, and cabling for television or broadband service in homes or businesses; troubleshoot signal and equipment issues, perform repairs and maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and grounding standards.
- • Test signal strength, quality, and continuity; document readings and pass/fail results.
- • Read site surveys, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications to plan equipment placement and cable routes.
- • Confer with customers to determine service needs and explain findings, options, and repair outcomes.
- • Provide customers with system demonstrations, safety guidance, and basic troubleshooting tips.
- • Prepare cost estimates, parts lists, and job closeout documentation with photos and work orders.
- • Make on-site service calls and coordinate with providers to provision service or escalate network issues.
- • Install and mount satellite dishes, masts, and brackets on roofs, walls, or poles per codes and manufacturer specifications.
- • Run, terminate, label, and weatherproof coaxial cabling; install grounding blocks, surge protectors, and drip loops.
- • Align dishes for peak signal (azimuth, elevation, skew) using satellite meters or spectrum analyzers.
- • Configure and activate receivers, set-top boxes, or satellite internet modems; verify service authorization.
- • Diagnose and repair issues with LNBs, multiswitches, cabling, connectors, and power inserters.
- • Perform routine maintenance, including tightening hardware, resealing penetrations, and replacing worn components.
