Description
Diagnose, repair, and adjust electronic home entertainment equipment (smart TVs, home theater receivers, speakers, soundbars, Blu-ray players, game and streaming devices) in homes or shop settings; perform routine maintenance and advise customers on proper use.
  • • Disassemble units and repair or replace faulty components, circuit boards, connectors, and wiring using hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • • Diagnose and repair televisions, home theater receivers, amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers, Blu-ray players, game consoles, and streaming or set-top devices.
  • • Calibrate and test audio and video performance; trace circuit faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other test equipment.
  • • Confer with customers to identify symptoms and service history, and explain findings and repairs.
  • • Adjust settings, alignments, and firmware to optimize picture, sound, and device interoperability per specifications and manuals.
  • • Instruct customers on safe operation, care, and connectivity (HDMI/ARC, CEC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
  • • Prepare labor and parts cost estimates and obtain approvals.
  • • Read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, service bulletins, and technical documentation.
  • • Document diagnostics, parts used, repairs performed, and test results in work orders.
  • • Perform on-site service calls in homes and pick up or return units for bench repair when required.
  • • Connect and verify speakers and cabling, and replace or terminate AV cables and connectors as needed.
