  • • Produce civil drawings and plan sets using CAD from engineer sketches and redlines.
  • • Draft plans, profiles, and details for roads, bridges, drainage, and water or wastewater systems.
  • • Create topographic maps, contours, and cross-sections from survey data.
  • • Build digital terrain models and surfaces for grading and earthwork.
  • • Coordinate roadway, structural, and utility layouts to resolve conflicts.
  • • Interpret and apply DOT standards, local codes, and permitting requirements to drawings.
  • • Compile base maps from surveys, GIS, and record drawings.
  • • Check dimensions, elevations, slopes, and coordinates for accuracy.
  • • Prepare quantity takeoffs, material lists, and item numbers for bid schedules.
  • • Determine sheet order, scales, and presentation methods for plan sets.
  • • Produce erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and staging plan sheets per standards.
  • • Incorporate geotechnical reports, utility locates, and as-built data into designs.
  • • Calculate earthwork volumes and prepare cut or fill and haul diagrams.
  • • Develop pipe networks and drainage profiles per engineer design.
  • • Assist with field measurements, site visits, and construction inspections to verify conditions.
  • • Explain drawings to construction teams and update plans based on RFIs and redlines.
  • • Assemble and edit specifications, general notes, and legends for civil plan sheets.
