Description
Create and manage coordinated 3D BIM models and model-based documents for buildings and civil works. Apply knowledge of construction materials, codes, and engineering practices to generate accurate plans, quantities, and data, integrate multidisciplinary designs, and support design, analysis, and construction using tools such as Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
- • Build detailed 3D BIM models of architectural, structural, and civil elements per project standards.
- • Produce coordinated plans, sections, elevations, and details from the model.
- • Set up projects, templates, worksets, and shared parameters in line with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- • Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP models; run clash detection and resolve issues.
- • Review codes, specifications, site constraints, and reports; reflect requirements in the model.
- • Create topography, corridors, and site models from surveys, GIS, and point clouds.
- • Lay out interior spaces and assemblies in BIM to meet program and code requirements.
- • Develop and maintain custom families/content and model libraries.
- • Determine modeling methods and view presentations (orthographic, isometric, 3D views) for deliverables.
- • Publish, print, and export sheets, models, and data per submission and client standards.
- • Model foundations, structures, and building systems from sketches, calculations, and markups.
- • Import, georeference, and reconcile survey data; manage shared coordinates and grids.
- • Generate quantity takeoffs, schedules, and material lists directly from the model.
- • Document and maintain LOD definitions, naming, and modeling procedures.
- • Conduct field verification or coordinate scans; update models for as-built conditions.
- • Present model views to design and construction teams; capture comments and implement revisions.
- • Assemble specifications, vendor content, and submittal data into the model.
- • Populate parameters for cost, phasing, classification, and asset data (e.g., COBie).
- • Perform grading and earthwork calculations from digital terrain models.
- • Create renderings, animations, and visualizations for client presentations.
- • Prepare analytical models or exports for structural, energy, and HVAC analysis.
- • Exchange models and data using formats such as IFC; manage interoperability and model health.
- • Version, archive, and QA/QC models; manage cloud collaboration and issue tracking.
- • Support estimates, bids, and procurement with model-based quantities and drawings under supervision.
- • Provide construction support with model extracts, field coordination sets, and clash issue logs.
- • Review sketches, RFIs, and consultant models for conformance with design intent and standards.
- • Train and support junior modelers and drafters in BIM workflows.
- • Maintain a federated model and coordination matrix across disciplines and phases.
