Teach undergraduate courses in anthropology and archaeology, emphasizing effective classroom, lab, and field instruction. Develop curricula and assessments, advise students, and contribute to departmental and campus service with a primary focus on teaching.
  • • Stay current in anthropology and archaeology through literature, conferences, and professional networks.
  • • Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and field-based lessons for undergraduate students.
  • • Design and update syllabi, assignments, rubrics, and learning materials.
  • • Create, administer, and grade exams and other assessments.
  • • Evaluate and grade student work promptly with constructive feedback.
  • • Facilitate inclusive classroom discussions and active learning.
  • • Supervise student fieldwork, lab activities, and practicums.
  • • Mentor and supervise teaching assistants or peer instructors where applicable.
  • • Advise students on coursework, degree progress, and career pathways.
  • • Hold regular office hours and provide academic support.
  • • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and compliance records.
  • • Select and requisition textbooks, software, and instructional supplies.
  • • Compile bibliographies and curate online resources for outside reading.
  • • Collaborate with faculty on course coordination and curriculum alignment.
  • • Contribute to program assessment and continuous curriculum improvement.
  • • Participate in department, college, and institutional committees.
  • • Assist with student recruitment, orientation, and registration activities.
  • • Engage in campus and community outreach related to anthropology and archaeology.
  • • Advise or co-advise relevant student organizations and clubs.
  • • Write letters of recommendation for students and alumni.
  • • Support field schools, study abroad, or community-based learning initiatives.
  • • Develop and maintain course sites in the learning management system.
  • • Ensure accessibility and implement evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices.
  • • Coordinate internships with community partners and supervise placements.
  • • Participate in professional development on pedagogy and discipline-specific updates.
  • • Contribute to departmental scheduling, budgeting input, or lab management as assigned.
