Provide daily exercise, care, and companionship to dogs by walking them on scheduled routes in neighborhoods, parks, and clients' homes. Follow owner instructions to ensure safety, hydration, basic feeding, medication administration, and enrichment, while documenting visits, securing homes, and cleaning up waste and equipment.
  • • Transport dogs safely when authorized, using crates or seat-belt restraints.
  • • Prepare simple meals or supplements per instructions when scheduled around walks.
  • • Provide companionship and enrichment through play and scent games when appropriate.
  • • Refer urgent health concerns to veterinarians and advise owners to seek professional care.
  • • Walk or run dogs to provide exercise and mental stimulation.
  • • Provide water and, when requested, feed dogs according to owner instructions and schedules.
  • • Observe dogs for signs of stress, illness, injury, or unusual behavior and report to owners.
  • • Administer oral medications or topical treatments as directed by owners or veterinarians.
  • • Record walk times, distance, routes, eliminations, feedings, medications, and notable incidents.
  • • Manage interactions with people and other dogs to ensure safety; caution bystanders as needed.
  • • Adjust walk duration and routes for weather and environmental conditions.
  • • Clean up pet waste during walks and in yards; dispose of it according to local rules.
  • • Wipe paws, dry coats, and brush lightly as requested after walks.
  • • Check and maintain collars, harnesses, leashes, and ID tags for fit and safety.
  • • Reinforce owner-approved training cues and leash manners.
  • • Discuss walking preferences, triggers, training cues, and handling instructions with clients.
  • • Restock and carry supplies such as poop bags, treats, and travel water; notify owners when items are low.
  • • Follow client home access protocols; lock up and secure homes after visits.
  • • Use GPS or apps to log walks, send updates, and share photos with clients.
  • • Schedule and confirm walk appointments with clients.
  • • Handle multiple dogs safely, using appropriate grouping and equipment.
  • • Comply with local leash laws, HOA rules, and park regulations.
