Description
Provide non-EMT patient handling and basic care in ambulances, assisting with safe transport, lifting, and first aid while supporting EMTs and maintaining equipment and sanitary conditions.
- • Assist EMTs with basic first aid, such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen per protocol.
- • Lift, move, and transfer patients onto stretchers and into or out of ambulances with team assistance.
- • Accompany patients during transport, monitor comfort and safety, and relay status to EMTs and receiving staff.
- • Replace supplies and disposable items and restock kits after calls.
- • Remove and replace soiled linens and clean patient care areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
- • Clean and wash ambulances, stretchers, and equipment after use.
- • Perform basic vehicle and equipment checks and report defects for service.
- • Report incident details and patient information to dispatch, hospital personnel, or law enforcement as required.
- • Restrain agitated or combative patients per protocols using approved devices to ensure safety.
- • Earn and maintain required certifications, such as CPR, first aid, and state or company credentials.
- • Assist drivers with navigation, scene safety, and loading or unloading as needed.
