Description
Plan, design, and execute tests to validate aerospace components, systems, and vehicles. Develop test plans, instrumentation, and data analysis to verify performance, safety, and compliance. Coordinate lab, ground, and flight test activities; analyze results; and recommend improvements to products, test equipment, and methods.
  • • Write test reports, matrices, and documentation for engineering, management, customers, and certification bodies.
  • • Direct and coordinate test activities of engineering and technical staff for aerospace products.
  • • Plan, conduct, and oversee experimental, environmental, operational, and stress tests on models, prototypes, and flight articles.
  • • Develop test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria based on requirements and regulations.
  • • Build or specify test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • • Formulate analytical models and simulations to design tests and interpret results.
  • • Analyze test requests and proposals to determine feasibility, cost, resources, risk, and schedule.
  • • Evaluate and qualify vendors and labs for test services, instrumentation, and materials.
  • • Coordinate investigation and resolution of field or customer issues using root cause analysis and verification testing.
  • • Maintain traceable records of test configurations, calibrations, data, and performance results.
  • • Develop and validate methods to measure emissions, noise, and environmental compliance for aerospace systems.
  • • Plan and execute tests to assess alternative fuels and lubricants for aerospace applications.
  • • Design conceptual test systems, rigs, and procedures to meet program and regulatory requirements.
  • • Review and approve test data for conformance to engineering principles, requirements, and quality standards.
  • • Define test schedules, budgets, risk mitigations, and safety plans.
  • • Lead or contribute to aerospace test research and development programs.
