Description
Design, integrate, and test complex systems across the lifecycle to meet performance, reliability, safety, and compliance requirements. Conduct research, modeling, and trade studies to assess technologies, components, and materials for suitability and producibility. Recommend and implement improvements to verification tools, test methods, and development processes.
  • • Direct or coordinate multidisciplinary teams in system architecture, integration, and verification.
  • • Elicit, decompose, allocate, and manage requirements across the system lifecycle.
  • • Define and control system and subsystem interfaces through interface control documents.
  • • Plan and conduct functional, performance, environmental, and stress testing of prototypes and integrated systems.
  • • Develop models, simulations, and analytical methods to evaluate architectures and design alternatives against requirements.
  • • Perform trade studies and decision analyses balancing performance, cost, schedule, risk, and compliance.
  • • Produce technical reports, specifications, verification plans, and user documentation for stakeholders.
  • • Analyze proposals and engineering data to determine system feasibility, risks, cost, schedule, and producibility.
  • • Evaluate and approve suppliers, COTS products, or open-source components for requirements compliance and reliability.
  • • Lead investigation and resolution of fielded system issues and customer-reported defects.
  • • Maintain configuration management and traceability of requirements, design baselines, and verification evidence.
  • • Develop system concepts and architectures to meet stakeholder needs and regulatory, safety, security, and environmental requirements.
  • • Assess design data, test results, and audits for conformance to requirements, standards, and quality objectives.
  • • Define design criteria, verification methods, quality standards, cost targets, and schedules for development and delivery.
  • • Mitigate technical risks by planning experiments, prototypes, and technology maturation activities.
  • • Champion process and tool improvements, including model-based systems engineering and test automation.
