Description
Ensure aerospace products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and industry quality standards. Develop and enforce quality systems, inspection and test plans, and supplier quality; analyze data to prevent and correct defects; lead root cause and corrective actions; and support certification and compliance across design, manufacturing, and testing.
- • Direct and coordinate quality, inspection, and test personnel for aerospace products.
- • Plan and oversee verification, environmental, operational, and stress tests for qualification and acceptance.
- • Apply statistical methods (SPC, capability, DOE) to analyze process and product quality.
- • Write quality reports, inspection procedures, and corrective action documentation for stakeholders.
- • Review designs and engineering changes for compliance, producibility, and inspectability.
- • Evaluate and approve suppliers through audits, source inspections, and performance monitoring.
- • Plan and coordinate investigation and resolution of customer quality issues and escapes.
- • Maintain quality records, metrics, and traceability in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- • Develop quality plans and acceptance criteria for new or modified aerospace systems.
- • Define inspection and test methods, gauges, fixtures, and calibration requirements.
- • Qualify materials, special processes, and test methods for aerospace applications.
- • Evaluate inspection results and product data for conformance to engineering, customer, and quality standards.
- • Develop control plans, sampling plans, and test protocols aligned with cost, schedule, and quality targets.
- • Diagnose quality and reliability issues by reviewing reports, inspections, and field returns; lead RCCA/CAPA.
- • Lead MRB and nonconformance management, including disposition and rework or repair approvals.
- • Plan and conduct internal audits and readiness reviews to maintain AS9100 and customer certifications.
