Description
Install, repair, and upgrade home weatherization measures to improve energy efficiency. Duties include sealing air leaks, insulating building components and ducts, minor repairs, and basic HVAC-related diagnostics. Perform blower-door and combustion-safety tests, assist with energy audits, and educate clients on conservation.
  • • Apply weather-stripping, glazing, caulk, and door sweeps to reduce leaks.
  • • Prepare cost estimates and specifications for weatherization work.
  • • Wrap air ducts and water lines with appropriate insulation materials.
  • • Install water heater blankets and adjust settings as allowed.
  • • Patch holes and penetrations with spackle or compound.
  • • Clean, calibrate, and maintain tools, meters, and equipment.
  • • Schedule and confirm appointments with residents or property owners.
  • • Communicate recommendations, procedures, and requirements to clients.
  • • Maintain activity logs, material usage, and financial transaction records.
  • • Assist in preparing bids, contracts, and written reports.

  • • Test airflow, pressure, and furnace efficiency with diagnostic equipment.
  • • Apply loose-fill, blanket, board, and foam insulation to building areas.
  • • Explain energy-saving practices and efficient fixtures to residents.
  • • Install and seal air ducts, combustion air, and ventilation openings.
  • • Install storm windows and doors and verify proper fit and operation.
  • • Perform minor repairs using hand and power tools and basic materials.
