Description
Design and manage water quality monitoring, assessment, and compliance programs for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and surface/groundwater; analyze data, guide treatment and pollution control, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local standards.
- • Lead field teams collecting surface, ground, and treated water samples.
- • Review stormwater treatment, detention, and outfall designs for water quality compliance.
- • Coordinate with agencies and facilities on discharge permits and quality requirements.
- • Perform water quality and pollutant fate-and-transport modeling.
- • Compile and analyze water quality data using GIS, GPS, and databases.
- • Maintain records tracking waterbody condition, impairments, and trends.

- • Monitor water quality conditions and compliance metrics across service areas.
- • Identify and characterize contamination sources and pollution hotspots.
- • Develop watershed protection and restoration plans targeting quality improvements.
- • Develop and implement standardized sampling, QA/QC, and assessment methods.
- • Study contaminants, treatment performance, and nutrient or pathogen controls.
- • Lead investigations of spills, permit exceedances, and other compliance issues.
- • Analyze costs and benefits of BMPs, treatment upgrades, and restoration projects.
- • Assess stormwater systems to improve pollutant removal and receiving water outcomes.
- • Devise strategies and monitoring plans to ensure compliance with CWA, SDWA, and state rules.
- • Oversee chemical, physical, and biological monitoring; ensure lab QA/QC and data validity.
