Description
Lead the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting, ensuring GAAP compliance, accurate records, and timely regulatory filings.
- • Prepare tax schedules and support external advisors in preparing and filing returns; ensure tax compliance.
- • Direct preparation of GAAP financial statements, management reports, forecasts, budgets, and regulatory filings.
- • Supervise accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reporting staff.
- • Establish approval matrices and controls over receipts, disbursements, and accounting records.
- • Maintain current knowledge of company policies, GAAP, and relevant federal and state regulations.
- • Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings.
- • Review and approve disbursements in accordance with policies and budgets.
- • Evaluate accounting staff performance and recommend hiring, promotions, training, or corrective actions.
- • Maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- • Lead the budgeting process and partner with leaders on forecasts and spending controls.
- • Develop and enforce internal control policies for accounting, cash management, credit, and budget administration.
- • Analyze historical and projected results to identify performance issues and process improvements.
- • Advise management on financial policies, risks, and actions based on accounting insights.
- • Guide departments on accounting policies, budget compliance, and efficient use of resources.
- • Monitor working capital needs and collaborate on cash management strategies.
- • Lead training and development for accounting and budgeting practices.
- • Oversee cash receipts, deposits, and bank reconciliations.
- • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate deductions and tax reporting.
- • Support tax planning and maintain accurate tax accruals and documentation.
- • Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation policies, and asset acquisition/disposal accounting.
- • Monitor cash flow, covenants, and compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
- • Oversee accounting for benefits and insurance programs and coordinate with HR on related compliance and audits.
