Description
Design, craft, alter, repair, clean, and restyle fur and shearling garments and accessories, ensuring proper fit, pelt quality, and longevity.
- • Fit and assess fur garments on clients to determine alterations and restyling.
- • Sew pelts and linings using fur machines and hand-stitching techniques.
- • Measure garment sections and mark alterations on the leather side to protect fur.
- • Shorten or lengthen hems and sleeves by taking up or letting out pelts.
- • Let out or take in seams and panels to improve fit and balance.
- • Align, match, and baste pelts before final stitching.
- • Remove stitches from the leather side carefully to prevent pelt or hair damage.
- • Tag garments with measurements, alteration notes, and client instructions.
- • Review work orders and specs to confirm required services and deadlines.
