Description
Package and prepare meat products for distribution by portioning, wrapping, sealing, labeling, and palletizing standard or premium cuts. Work occurs in meat packing or wholesale facilities and includes operating packaging equipment, maintaining sanitation, and meeting quality and food safety standards.
  • • Weigh packages and apply accurate price, lot, and date labels.
  • • Portion standard meat cuts for packaging according to weight and specifications.
  • • Trim excess fat, bone fragments, and defects from cuts before packing.
  • • Operate packaging equipment to wrap, vacuum-seal, and label products.
  • • Tend packaging lines and conveyors, boxing and palletizing finished product.
  • • Operate slicers, saws, or grinders as needed to prepare product for packing.
  • • Inspect products for quality, temperature, and foreign material; remove nonconforming items.
  • • Maintain sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment per GMP and HACCP.
  • • Monitor and record production counts, yields, and lot traceability.
  • • Replenish film, trays, boxes, and other packaging materials.
  • • Follow food safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
  • • Move product using hand trucks or pallet jacks while maintaining cold chain.
  • • Comply with ergonomic and knife-safety practices to minimize injury risk.
  • • Coordinate with cutting and shipping teams to meet order schedules and specifications.
