Description
Lead the sales engineering function, managing a team that translates customer requirements into solutions, drives technical sales strategy, and achieves revenue goals; oversee presales discovery, proposals, demos/POCs, and cross-functional execution with sales, product, and engineering.
  • • Lead and coach the sales engineering team to meet revenue and conversion goals.
  • • Define technical sales strategy, coverage, and capacity plans.
  • • Partner with account executives on discovery and requirements definition.
  • • Oversee solution architecture and product configurations to meet customer needs.
  • • Review and approve RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and solution designs.
  • • Direct demos, proof-of-concepts, and trial installations to validate value.
  • • Establish standards for technical presentations and collateral quality.
  • • Build and maintain executive relationships with key customers.
  • • Manage escalations and guide resolution for complex technical issues.
  • • Ensure accurate pricing, scoping, and terms in quotes and contracts.
  • • Coordinate order booking, delivery, and handoff to services and support.
  • • Drive pipeline hygiene and maintain team sales forecasts.
  • • Track and report KPIs, wins/losses, and activity metrics to leadership.
  • • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales engineering talent.
  • • Provide ongoing training and certification on products and industry topics.
  • • Collaborate with product and engineering to relay market feedback and influence roadmap.
  • • Analyze competitors and industry trends to refine positioning and playbooks.
  • • Develop go-to-market plans for new products and verticals.
  • • Create and enforce SE processes, playbooks, and best practices.
  • • Support channel partners and identify resale and upsell opportunities.
  • • Oversee creation of technical documentation and knowledge assets.
  • • Ensure CRM accuracy and documentation of account activities.
  • • Manage team budget, tools, and resource allocation.
  • • Represent the company at trade shows, webinars, and industry events.
  • • Uphold compliance, risk management, and deal-desk approval policies.
