Supervise daily recycling collection and processing operations for municipal or private facilities, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and high-quality service.
  • • Oversee curbside and drop-off recycling operations for compliance with ordinances and permits.
  • • Supervise recycling technicians, drivers, and volunteers.
  • • Assign drivers and crews to routes and shifts.
  • • Coordinate collection schedules to optimize service and efficiency.
  • • Arrange and track shipments of recyclables with brokers and processors.
  • • Manage day-to-day operations budgets and cost controls.
  • • Enforce SOPs for solid and hazardous waste handling and storage.
  • • Execute facility recycling plans and track performance against goals.
  • • Support implementation of funded projects and submit required site reports.
  • • Investigate and document safety or ordinance violations and noncompliance.
  • • Provide customer or community briefings on recycling procedures when needed.
  • • Liaise with vendors, haulers, and processors to resolve service or quality issues.
  • • Oversee and, as needed, operate forklifts, loaders, or trucks to move materials safely.
  • • Oversee operation, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of processing equipment.
  • • Support outreach and contamination-reduction efforts at the site level.
  • • Prepare daily and weekly operational reports, KPIs, and incident logs.
  • • Schedule movement of materials into and out of storage areas.
  • • Identify opportunities to increase recovery and reduce contamination.
  • • Inspect facilities for compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
  • • Maintain accurate logs of materials received, processed, and shipped.
  • • Prepare bills of lading, shipping records, and customer receipts.
  • • Train staff on safety, equipment operation, and recycling procedures.
  • • Review customer service requests and deploy resources to meet service levels.
