Description
Supervise daily quality control activities across production and laboratory operations. Implement QA programs, enforce standards, coordinate testing, and lead QC staff to ensure compliant products and continuous improvement.
  • • Stop production when serious defects are detected.
  • • Review contractor quality plans and escalate for approval.
  • • Stay current on QC methods, regulations, and trends; brief the team.
  • • Monitor QC supplies and resource usage; submit requests to management.
  • • Evaluate and pilot new testing or sampling methods; provide feedback.
  • • Coordinate calibration, maintenance, and proper use of QC equipment.
  • • Collect and analyze production samples to assess quality.
  • • Participate in audits of suppliers and external laboratories.
  • • Verify raw materials, components, in-process, and finished goods meet standards.
  • • Maintain and verify quality documentation for audits and inspections.
  • • Enforce SOPs and recommend updates.
  • • Prepare reports on nonconformances, daily quality, root causes, and trends.
  • • Provide shop-floor input to product specifications.
  • • Support new product trials and identify scale-up quality risks.
  • • Communicate quality expectations to vendors and contractors; follow up on corrections.
  • • Identify quality issues and areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • • Train and coach inspectors, technicians, and operators in QC procedures.
  • • Ensure sampling plans are applied at critical process points.
  • • Ensure testing procedures and acceptance criteria are documented and followed.
  • • Oversee tracking of defects, test results, and quality KPIs.
  • • Implement inspection and testing criteria; suggest improvements.
  • • Relay customer requirements and quality expectations to the team.
  • • Communicate QC information to production, engineering, and suppliers.
  • • Analyze test results and provide feedback to production management and staff.
  • • Supervise QC inspectors, technicians, and lab personnel.
  • • Monitor QC system performance and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • • Direct product testing activities throughout production cycles.
