Description
Set up and operate high-speed digital printing presses and workflow software to produce short- and long-run jobs. Prepare files, manage color, calibrate equipment, load substrates, monitor output quality, and perform routine maintenance and finishing.
- • Configure RIP queues, imposition, color management, and finishing settings.
- • Run proofs to verify coverage, density, alignment, and color accuracy.
- • Verify media type, size, grain direction, and compatibility with press and job requirements.
- • Adjust digital files to alter print elements, such as fonts, graphics, or color separations.
- • Adjust color, density, calibration, and registration settings at the RIP or press console.

- • Input job parameters into workstations that control automated digital presses.
- • Load presses with paper or other substrates and make adjustments by size and type.
- • Monitor automated press operation and respond to fault, error, or alert messages.
- • Monitor and replenish toner or ink, coatings, and other consumables.
- • Manage workflow scheduling and job tracking using computer systems.
- • Coordinate with prepress and finishing staff to meet production schedules.
- • Archive jobs, presets, and color profiles for accurate repeat runs.
- • Maintain time, quality, and production records.
- • Monitor environmental factors, such as humidity and temperature, and make necessary adjustments.
- • Monitor inventory levels and request or order additional supplies as needed.
- • Set up or operate inline or nearline finishing equipment, such as cutting, folding, booklet-making, drilling, or laminating.
