Description
Sort, load, and deliver letters and parcels for the United States Postal Service along assigned routes by vehicle or on foot; collect outgoing mail, handle accountable items, and provide basic customer service at the door.
- • Sort and sequence mail and parcels for delivery.
- • Obtain signatures and collect fees for registered, certified, insured, and COD items, completing required paperwork.
- • Deliver mail to residences and businesses by foot or vehicle using satchels, carts, and postal vehicles.
- • Collect outgoing mail from homes, businesses, and collection boxes.
- • Return to the station with collected mail and accountable items.
- • Turn in money and receipts collected on the route.
- • Sign for accountable mail before leaving the station.
- • Record address changes and forward or redirect mail accordingly.
- • Hold mail for customers per authorized requests.
- • Bundle and load mail for delivery or transport to relay points.
- • Leave notices for items requiring pickup, redelivery, or postage due.
- • Meet scheduled collection and delivery times.
- • Return undeliverable-as-addressed mail to senders or process per policy.
- • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and accountable items.
- • Answer customer questions about delivery, holds, forwarding, and USPS services.
- • Provide customers with change-of-address, hold mail, and other USPS forms.
- • Report hazards, damaged collection boxes, or unusual conditions on the route.
- • Register, certify, and insure parcels and letters upon request.
- • Pick up mail at the post office or designated relay boxes for the route.
- • Scan barcodes on letters and parcels to confirm pickup and delivery.
