Description
Diagnose and surgically treat diseases, injuries, and deformities of the foot and ankle, providing comprehensive pre- and postoperative care.
  • • Evaluate foot and ankle conditions using medical histories, physical exams, imaging, and laboratory results to determine surgical candidacy.
  • • Plan and perform foot and ankle surgeries, including bunion correction, hammertoe repair, fracture fixation, tendon and ligament repair, and arthroscopy.
  • • Manage complex deformities and limb-salvage cases such as Charcot neuroarthropathy, severe flatfoot, and diabetic complications.
  • • Provide preoperative counseling, obtain informed consent, and coordinate medical optimization with other physicians.
  • • Deliver postoperative care, including wound management, pain control, casting or immobilization, and rehabilitation protocols.
  • • Prescribe medications, custom orthotics, braces, or prosthetic devices and physical therapy to support surgical and nonsurgical care.
  • • Perform soft-tissue and bone procedures for corns, ingrown nails, cysts, neuromas, chronic ulcers, and abscesses, including debridement and partial amputations when indicated.
  • • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, vascular studies, and cultures.
  • • Refer or co-manage patients with systemic diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, or peripheral vascular disease with appropriate specialists.
  • • Apply casts, splints, and strapping, and adjust corrective devices to protect repairs and correct deformities.
  • • Maintain surgical documentation and privileges; ensure compliance with OR safety, sterilization, and regulatory standards; and manage staff and supplies as needed.
