Capture athletes, teams, and live sporting events for media, teams, and sponsors. Use high-speed cameras, long lenses, and controlled or available light to freeze or convey motion in challenging venues. Edit, caption, and deliver images rapidly for broadcast, web, and print.
  • • Photograph live games, practices, and athlete portraits on location and in studio.
  • • Adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and focus modes to freeze or blur motion as needed.
  • • Use digital cameras with telephoto lenses, monopods, remote triggers, and flash or strobes as permitted.
  • • Shape light using flashes, strobes, and reflectors while complying with venue regulations.
  • • Plan shot lists, angles, and positions by scouting venues and consulting with clients or editors.
  • • Test cameras, lenses, remotes, lighting, and wireless transmitters before events.
  • • Review high-volume bursts to select the strongest frames.
  • • Measure and evaluate light, white balance, and distances for stadiums and arenas.
  • • Edit, crop, color-balance, and noise-reduce images using professional software.
  • • Maintain, clean, and weatherproof cameras, lenses, and support gear.
  • • Handle scheduling, credentialing, travel logistics, invoicing, and equipment records.
  • • Coordinate with media relations, coaches, and venue staff to secure access and ensure sideline safety.
  • • Select and assemble gear kits appropriate to the sport, venue, and assignment.
  • • Retouch portraits and marketing images while preserving authenticity of action shots.
  • • Set up and secure remote cameras behind goals, above courts, or on catwalks.
  • • Produce and export files for web, social, and print; embed IPTC metadata.
  • • Direct assistants in lighting setups, gear handling, or remote camera operation.
  • • Apply techniques such as panning, burst shooting, low-angle perspectives, and high-speed sync.
  • • Research and adopt new cameras, autofocus systems, workflows, and lighting methods.
  • • Build and update online galleries, portfolios, and e-commerce for print sales.
  • • Manage media cards and data flow; format, ingest, and back up images on-site.
  • • Create visual assets for broadcasts, team presentations, sponsors, and press kits.
  • • License images to media outlets, teams, brands, and stock agencies; manage usage rights and releases.
  • • Mount or frame select images for displays, team facilities, or client deliveries.
  • • Transmit images from the field via Wi-Fi, ethernet, or FTP to editors on deadline.
  • • Write accurate captions with player names, teams, dates, locations, and game context.
  • • When film is used, coordinate processing or send to photofinishing laboratories.
