Description
Design, measure, fit, and adjust eyeglass lenses and frames according to written prescriptions and client needs. Guide clients in selecting frames and lens options, instruct on contact lens insertion, removal, and care, and take precise measurements for accurate fit and vision. Prepare and verify lab orders, inspect finished eyewear for accuracy, and reshape or repair frames as needed.
- • Measure bridge, eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers with appropriate devices.
- • Verify that finished lenses meet prescription specifications.
- • Prepare detailed work orders for grinding, edging, and mounting lenses.
- • Assist clients in selecting frames that complement face shape, style, and prescription.
- • Maintain client records, prescriptions, orders, and payments.
- • Process insurance benefits and perform basic bookkeeping and inventory tracking.
