Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate the conservation, use, restoration, and monitoring of natural resources—such as land, water, forests, and wildlife—to achieve sustainable outcomes, regulatory compliance, and effective field operations and stakeholder engagement.
- • Develop and implement resource management plans for forests, watersheds, rangelands, and wildlife habitats.
- • Coordinate with scientists, engineers, contractors, tribes, and regulators to scope, review, and deliver projects.
- • Lead habitat restoration, fuels reduction, invasive species control, and erosion control projects.
- • Oversee field monitoring programs; analyze data and prepare technical and operational reports.
- • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and permits (e.g., NEPA, ESA, Clean Water Act) and prepare permitting documents.
- • Prepare project proposals, grant applications, and scopes of work.
- • Plan and manage budgets; track expenditures and produce financial reports.
- • Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, field crews, and consultants; provide training and enforce safety protocols.
- • Develop and implement policies, standard operating procedures, and best management practices.
- • Set resource objectives and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals.
- • Engage stakeholders and the public; lead meetings and present plans and findings.
- • Manage contracts and procurement for equipment, services, and materials.

- • Conduct or oversee resource assessments, inventories, and environmental impact analyses.
- • Negotiate access agreements, easements, and interagency or landowner partnerships.
- • Monitor and adaptively manage projects based on performance and changing conditions.
