Description
Provide therapeutic massage of soft tissues and joints to relieve pain, improve mobility, and support wellness. Assess range of motion and muscle strength and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • • Review client health histories, stress, and pain concerns to determine appropriate massage.
  • • Apply targeted finger, hand, and forearm pressure to specific body points.
  • • Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues to treat conditions, injuries, or for maintenance and relaxation.
  • • Maintain accurate treatment and progress records.
  • • Educate clients on posture, stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and home-care exercises.
  • • Assess soft-tissue condition, joint function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
  • • Develop and recommend treatment plans and select massage modalities.
  • • Refer clients to other providers when issues fall outside scope of practice.
  • • Use adjunctive aids, such as heat, cold, and hydrotherapy, to promote recovery and well-being.
  • • Treat clients in clinics, spas, or on-site at homes or workplaces.
  • • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, chiropractors, physicians, and psychologists, on care plans.
  • • Select, prepare, and apply oils, lotions, and topical blends.
  • • Perform complementary modalities permitted by training and licensure.
  • • Sanitize equipment and restock supplies to maintain treatment areas.
