Description
Perform cleaning and disinfection services in healthcare facilities to maintain a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment. Duties include disinfecting patient and clinical areas, handling waste and linens, stocking supplies, and operating floor-care equipment in compliance with infection prevention and safety protocols.
- • Transport cleaning supplies, PPE, and linens on EVS carts.
- • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam areas, waiting rooms, restrooms, corridors, and other clinical spaces to meet infection-control standards.
- • Remove regular, recyclable, and regulated medical waste to designated disposal areas.
- • Restock paper goods, soap, hand sanitizer, and linens.
- • Keep EVS closets and carts stocked, clean, and organized.
- • Dust and disinfect high-touch surfaces, furniture, and non-clinical equipment.
- • Sweep, mop, and operate auto-scrubbers and burnishers to maintain floors.
- • Vacuum and spot-clean carpets, rugs, and upholstery.
- • Clean interior windows, walls, doors, and other hard surfaces.
- • Dust blinds, vents, and light fixtures.
- • Perform discharge and terminal cleans of patient rooms per protocol.
- • Follow isolation precautions and use approved germicides and PPE.
- • Respond to and clean spills, including bloodborne pathogen events, using proper procedures.
- • Collect soiled linens and deliver clean linens to units; rotate stock in linen closets.
- • Clean and polish sinks, fixtures, dispensers, and metal surfaces.
- • Set up meeting rooms and classrooms; arrange furniture as scheduled.
- • Report maintenance issues, hazards, and damaged property; place service requests.
- • Replace light bulbs and batteries where permitted by policy.
- • Deliver supplies and equipment to departments as needed.
- • Move furniture and equipment to access areas for cleaning and for room setup.
