Plan and design outdoor environments for parks, campuses, streetscapes, transportation corridors, hospitals, schools, subdivisions, and commercial, industrial, and residential sites, balancing aesthetics, function, ecology, codes, and budget.
  • • Prepare site plans, sections, details, and illustrative graphics for proposed designs.
  • • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and planners to integrate site and building design and improve performance.
  • • Create water-efficient landscapes using drought-tolerant and native plants.
  • • Design and integrate rainwater harvesting and graywater systems into site plans.
  • • Select sustainable materials and products appropriate for landscape applications.
  • • Meet with clients and stakeholders to define scope, goals, and budgets.
  • • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents for land development.
  • • Analyze site conditions such as topography, soils, drainage, climate, vegetation, and utilities to inform design and reports.
  • • Prepare and deliver proposals, marketing collateral, and presentations to win work.
  • • Observe construction to verify conformance with plans and specifications and advise clients and contractors.
  • • Present designs to agencies and community groups and support permitting.
  • • Incorporate existing landforms, vegetation, and cultural features into designs.
  • • Manage consultants and contractors to maintain quality, schedule, and budget.
  • • Research products, technologies, codes, and design trends to stay current.
  • • Conduct site visits to document soils, existing landscaping, and water management infrastructure.
  • • Develop planting plans to achieve ecological, seasonal, and aesthetic goals.
  • • Work with estimators to price work and coordinate bids from landscape contractors.
  • • Produce conceptual diagrams and phasing graphics to illustrate site evolution over time.
  • • Provide post-occupancy reviews and maintenance guidance to confirm design intent.
