Description
Support funeral directors by preparing and maintaining service spaces, arranging flowers and lighting, placing and closing caskets as directed, greeting and escorting mourners, operating and cleaning vehicles, managing equipment and logistics, and providing respectful assistance before, during, and after services.

- • Greet and assist visitors at the funeral home and service venues.
- • Direct or escort mourners to viewing rooms, chapels, or seating.
- • Place caskets in parlors or chapels before visitations or services.
- • Arrange floral tributes and lighting around the casket and venue.
- • Close caskets at the appropriate time, as directed.
- • Act as a pallbearer when needed.
- • Transport the deceased to and from the funeral home under supervision.
- • Clean, fuel, and drive hearses, limousines, and other funeral vehicles.
- • Organize and issue funeral equipment; clean and store items after use.
- • Carry and deliver floral arrangements to vehicles, graveside, or family.
- • Set up and break down service spaces, tents, chairs, and audiovisual equipment.
- • Supervise processions and assist with cemetery or venue parking.
- • Maintain cleanliness of parlors, chapels, and common areas.
- • Provide comfort and directions to bereaved guests; refer needs to the director.
- • Perform basic administrative tasks such as answering phones and preparing forms.
- • Assist with cremation logistics and packaging of cremated remains under supervision.
- • Prepare and place signage, guest books, and memorial materials.
- • Coordinate with clergy, celebrants, and venue staff regarding service details.
- • Follow safety, health, and confidentiality protocols in all activities.
