Description
Coordinate and perform cemetery operations, including preparing gravesites, arranging and directing interments and inurnments, setting up service areas and floral tributes, guiding families and processions, maintaining grounds and equipment, and handling burial permits and cemetery records.
- • Arrange chairs, canopies, floral offerings, and lighting at gravesites or service areas.
- • Perform a variety of tasks at graveside services to assist funeral directors and ensure ceremonies run smoothly.
- • Greet visitors at the cemetery and provide directions to gravesites and facilities.
- • Offer assistance to mourners entering or exiting vehicles and moving across cemetery grounds.
- • Operate casket lowering devices and coordinate vault closure per protocol.
- • Obtain burial permits and register interments in accordance with regulations.

- • Attend to the needs of the bereaved by offering courteous assistance and referrals to support resources.
- • Perform administrative tasks, such as updating lot ownership and burial records and answering phone calls.
- • Supervise funeral processions within the cemetery and direct parking and traffic.
- • Deliver floral tributes or personal items to family areas or gravesites.
- • Perform grounds maintenance, including grave opening and closing support, turf repair, snow and ice removal, and equipment care.
- • Obtain required signatures on interment authorizations and complete work orders and permits.
- • Update cemetery maps and plot diagrams and verify grave locations before services.
