Description
Patrol assigned areas to enforce wildlife, fisheries, and boating laws. Investigate wildlife-caused crop or property damage and other incidents. Collect and report biological and enforcement data.
- • Patrol assigned areas by vehicle, boat, ATV, aircraft, horse, or on foot to enforce wildlife, fisheries, and boating laws and manage natural resources.
- • Protect and conserve native wildlife, plants, and ecosystems.
- • Deliver hunter, boater, and trapper safety education.
- • Assist local, state, and federal law enforcement as needed.
- • Conduct outreach to schools, civic groups, sporting clubs, and media on conservation and regulations.

- • Design or implement control measures to prevent or mitigate wildlife or human-caused damage.
- • Document damage extent and prepare loss estimates or compensation recommendations.
- • Supervise seasonal or volunteer staff.
- • Issue licenses, permits, and related documentation.
- • Provide information and assistance to park, refuge, and waterway visitors.
- • Perform basic facility and habitat maintenance, including structure repair and invasive species control.
- • Compile, preserve, and present evidence for administrative or court proceedings.
- • Investigate hunting, boating, and wildlife-related accidents and alleged violations.
- • Issue warnings or citations and complete incident and investigative reports.
- • Serve warrants and make arrests as authorized.
- • Participate in search-and-rescue operations.
- • Arrange proper disposition of illegally taken or possessed wildlife or fish.
- • Seize illegal equipment or contraband used in wildlife law violations.
- • Support wildfire suppression and other emergency response as assigned.
